USI Network Schools

Data Analysis

The USI Network believes that a central practice of school improvement is the ongoing and systematic analysis of school and student level data towards enhancing student learning. The Network has committed time and resources to helping schools develop the capacity to analyze school level data through its annual data forum, and student level data through its coaching. The USI Network Data Forum provides a rare opportunity for schools to come together to understand their summative assessment data in the context of research on college preparation. The Network also works with school leaders to use student assessment data to problematize student learning, identify practices to address student needs, and then monitor the implementation and assessment of those practices.

In addition to the USI Network Data Forum and the school-based coaching, the USI Network, has partnered with the Consortium on Chicago School Research (CCSR), the Network for College Success (NCS), and the Greater Albany Park Education Coalition to form the Data Practice Collaborative (DPC). The DPC works to develop capacity within schools to analyze and use school data while at the same time helping researchers understand and refine the types of reports and analyses provided to schools.
